In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, baking soda, cornstarch, and sesame oil or olive oil.
Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Set aside to marinate while preparing the vegetables.
Cook the Rice:
In a pot, add the washed white rice and 4 cups of water.
Add salt to taste.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked. Set aside.
Cook the Onions:
Heat 1 tablespoon of peanut oil or olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
