  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or olive oil

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 3 tablespoons peanut oil or olive oil
  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 pack Bok Choy, chopped
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the White Rice:

  • 3 cups white rice (washed)
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt to taste
Directions
  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, baking soda, cornstarch, and sesame oil or olive oil.
    • Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Set aside to marinate while preparing the vegetables.

  2. Cook the Rice:
    • In a pot, add the washed white rice and 4 cups of water.
    • Add salt to taste.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked. Set aside.

  3. Cook the Onions:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of peanut oil or olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
    • Add the sliced white onion and sauté until softened and slightly caramelized.
    • Remove from the pan and set aside.

  4. Cook the Beef:
    • In the same pan, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of peanut oil or olive oil.
    • Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

  5. Combine Ingredients:
    1. In the same pan, add the chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant.
    2. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, white vinegar, water, and black pepper.
    3. Stir well to combine the flavors.

  6. Cook the Vegetables:
    • Add the cooked onions back into the pan, followed by the chopped Bok Choy.
    • Stir-fry until the Bok Choy is wilted and cooked to your desired tenderness.

  7. Final Assembly:
    • Add the cooked beef back into the pan and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.

  8. Serve:
    • Serve the beef and Bok Choy stir-fry over a bed of white rice.
