When you see a Christmas tree, you can't help but just smile. Foods shaped in festive ways just bring you joy during the December holiday. The ham & cheese Christmas Tree Bread can be served as a charming and delicious festive appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
Bread Dough:
2 1/2 Pound Self Rising Flour
5oz Sugar
2 1/2oz Butter
2 1/2oz Crisco Shortening
1oz Salt
1oz Instant Yeast
3oz Powder Milk
3 Egg Yolk
+/- 3 Cup Cold Water
Filling:
1 pack Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
8 slice HAM
1 Egg
1 Garlic Clove
1 Tbsp Butter
Italian Seasoning
Parsley
Directions
Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
Preparing time is 20 minutes and cooking time is approximately 40 minutes.
- Add flour, sugar, butter, Crisco shortening, yeast and powder milk into a bowl and bring to mix.
- Add cold water slowly into the mixture and continue mixing.
- Add salt slowly while mixing.
- When dough is ready, break golf-ball sized pieces off and flatten in the palm of your hand.
- Add a cube of cheese and piece of ham then bring all the edges up, pinching them together then roll into balls.
- Place the dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or large sheet pan in the shape of a Christmas tree. Allow a little space in between the dough balls
- Brush the though with beaten eggs and sprinkle with italian seasoning.
- Place in the oven and allow to bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool for 10 minutes then decorate with parsley (optional) before serving.
