Traditionally Sùlt is a dish that is eaten and enjoyed during the December holidays in the Caribbean. It is usually eaten as a snack and perhaps served with a piece of bread.
Preparation is 24 hours before serving.
Time of preparation is 90 minutes and let rest in the refrigerator overnight.
Ingredients
3 Cups Destilled Vinegar
1 Tbsp Pure Vinegar
1 Pound Salted Pork Meat
1 Pound Pork Meat
3 Garlic Cloves Mashed & Diced
2 Red Onion Sliced
1 Hot Red Pepper/Madame Janet Diced
6 Cloves
2 Tbsp Oil
1 Chicken or Meat Broth to Steam
Salt if needed
Directions
- Steam all meat together for 45 minutes and let it rest.
- Add sliced red onion, hot red pepper and meat into a bowl.
- Add destilled and pure vinegar, all spice, clove, garlic, oil and salt (if needed) into the bowl and bring to a mix.
- Let it rest in the refrigerator overnight, so the meat can optimize to its taste.
